With Roger Martin-Fagg, renowned behavioural economist and keynote speaker

What does our economic future look like?

The session will not only cover a view of the future – what current indicators tell us about the next three years but also:

  • The definition of added value, the drivers of economic activity and in particular the money supply
  • The causes of the current inflation rate and the impact of demographic profiles
  • The concept of monetary equilibrium and the causes of boom and recession
  • Finally, how the media mislead us with their economic reporting techniques

Roger is a behavioural economist who is skilled at simplifying complex economics matters, making them relevant and bringing the subject alive; he is also renowned for having potentially some highly controversial views. Whether you agree with him or not, you will come away with a greater understanding and some useful insights of how it all works, why things are happening and what may be ahead of us!! After a degree in Economics, Geography and Economic History Roger worked in the NZ Treasury, then back in the UK, economic forecasting for the air transport and travel industry. He changed career to become a lecturer, including 21 years at Henley Management College. He is now a speaker and freelance educator on behavioural economics. His focus is on what drives the numbers the media talk about.
