Lincolnshire’s Sleaford Quality Foods have grown from a small family-run business into a leading supplier of high quality ingredients to many of the UK’s major food manufacturers and food service companies. Celebrating their 50th year in 2018, this multi-million pound turnover business continues to enjoy excellent growth and as such has looked to improve its efficiency through investment in technology.
With no internal IT leadership, Sleaford Quality Foods engaged the services of Freeman Clarke to perform a full independent review of their IT infrastructure, systems, and processes. Martin Shaw conducted the review and provided the Executive Team with an honest and open appraisal, and, importantly a practical roadmap to pursue to support the ambitious goals of the business.
Following on from this review, Martin was retained on a part-time basis and has been leading an ERP project, managing multiple vendors and internal resources. This had been a problematic project suffering several setbacks and was in danger of going off-track again. Martin’s intervention, however, has brought much-needed structure and project delivery experience that will soon see the implementation go live.
Additionally, he has been guiding the business towards GDPR compliance, revising the Business Continuity Plan, and onboarding a new IT Service Provider to support the increased demands of this fast growing and successful business.
James Arnold, Managing Director commented:
‘Martin has become one of our team here at Sleaford and part of the Executive Team that meets monthly to drive the business forwards. His presence has provided us with much-needed technological insights and perspective that is essential to our growth. The Freeman Clarke model works well for our business, providing us with access to a senior IT Leader with experience across different sectors who helps challenge our way of thinking and ensures that we have a robust and suitably aligned IT Strategy to help us achieve our ambitious goals.’
