Checkback International UK has been a leader in online personnel checks and identity verification for over 20 years, working with international clients ranging from major airports, construction firms, and multinational companies to government bodies such as the NHS. Checkback’s reputation for high quality service is built on its supportive, knowledgeable team and client portal.

Checkback came to Freeman Clarke to help with a project to re-build its client platform to make it flexible enough to work with future checks and to integrate with customer systems. Simon Collin joined as CTO to help with the product strategy, to define the architecture and to work with the software developers and product manager to deliver a robust platform that could be used as the basis of Checkback’s future client software.

The requirements included integration with the new Government set of security standards and API, new flexibility to integrate with client systems through APIs, and to provide a simple migration from the existing client portal. In addition, to market to a new customer segment of small businesses, the platform needed to offer a transactional direct-to-consumer interface.

Simon’s contributions have been through working directly with the CEO, Joey Lyons, in defining a strategy that allows Checkback to clearly map its technology journey and have the confidence to invest in its new modular product design and secure, cloud-based technology to grow and evolve with its client needs. Together with this core product development, Checkback has been deploying new software tools to help improve workflows and reduce any friction points or delays for all users – with a resulting excellent customer satisfaction across all sectors.
