BioCity is a pioneering life science incubator and business collective providing efficient working space for the curious, the pioneers, and the radicals that go toe-to-toe with global healthcare challenges.

Headquartered in Nottingham with sites in Manchester and Glasgow, BioCity has been a client of Freeman Clarke for several years. BioCity had been uncomfortable with the service received from their primary IT service provider and contacted independent IT Leaders Freeman Clarke. The first exercise was to define a service solution that aligned with business requirements, to select a new provider, and to transition the services. Dave Martin, one of the experienced IT Directors from the Freeman Clarke team in the Midlands, was appointed as BioCity’s Fractional IT Director to accomplish this exercise. He has gone on to be become a trusted business advisor.

Following the initial activities, the relationship between BioCity and Freeman Clarke has steadily deepened. Dave has worked with the BioCity team to evolve their IT strategy so that it aligns with the business strategy. After agreeing upon a strategy, Dave implemented several key projects. These include: migration to cloud-based, site-agnostic solutions, implementing numerous security enhancements, and helping the company to exploit the rich data it has built up over the years. The company is now highly data-driven and is seeing the benefits in terms of better decision making and more predictable outcomes.
