Founded in 1992, with offices in London and Oxford, recruitment and hospitality services company At Your Service is the UK’s leading supplier of professional hospitality staff. Its team of hospitality professionals work on national and international projects for some of the most celebrated event organisers and caterers in the industry. They are proud of their long-lasting relationships with the most treasured venues including the Royal Palaces, The Royal Albert Hall, Lords (MCC), Ascot and Wembley Stadium.
Their impressive portfolio of music, entertainment, sporting and retail venues continues to grow, including new venues such as Bicester Village. People really are at the heart of what they do, which is why they have cultivated a true sense of community amongst the team and built their very own AYS Family.
The AYS Board of Directors reached out to Freeman Clarke in February 2018, and, following an impressive initial meeting with Martin Davis, Regional Director, they were introduced to Principal CIODavid Carter. David conducted a thorough review of their IT landscape, encompassing infrastructure, cyber security, GDPR compliance, suppliers, and most importantly, a bespoke software solution — their core operational recruitment system that supports the whole business.
MD Charles Smith commented:
‘David and Freeman Clarke brought clarity and leadership to our IT decision making. Our IT systems are core to our operations, and we needed someone with the experience and expertise to lead our decision making and oversee change and implementation. David seamlessly joined my senior leadership team, quickly understood our business and created an IT strategy, which he then helped us resource and bring to life.’
David presented an IT strategy to the Board for At Your Service and its sister company Sherpa. He then quickly assembled a project team to ensure that the business was in a good shape for the introduction of GDPR in May 2018. He also worked with in-house staff and suppliers to ensure that AYS was cyber safe and on the path to Cyber Essentials accreditation.
With the IT infrastructure stabilised and in safe hands, David then focussed his expertise on business processes and how technology would help AYS and Sherpa achieve their longer-term ambitions. With business requirements defined, David led a review of suitable recruitment systems culminating in the selection of a strategic systems partner. David then led the business through implementation, which included process and change management, data cleansing, migration from the old platform, configuration and extension of functionality, training, testing and go-live planning.
AYS is now server-less and completely cloud-based, and has integrated IT systems that will enable growth and the flexibility to adapt as the recruitment and hospitality sectors address continuous change and disruption.
